Nokia Lumia 635
Nokia Lumia 635 also known as Nokia Lumia 635 RM-974 is an update to the Lumia 630; it’s not much of an upgrade though. They both have the same features, from the display to the cameras, memory size, battery capacity, operating system; but the Lumia 635 added 4G (LTE) support and that makes it superior to the earlier Smartphone.
Design And Body
Just exactly as we expected, the Lumia 635 has a plastic and colorful body like any other Lumia Smartphone. It’s available in bright green, bright yellow, bright orange, white, black; featuring same design, height and width (134 grams, 129.5 X 66.7 X 9.2 mm) as the Lumia 630. Nothing new was added to the body, it’s still very much light and portable.
Display And Camera
I really expected a little upgrade to the display of Nokia Lumia 635 but it still came with the same old 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 480 X 854 pixels resolution which is not so sharp but will do great for an average Smartphone user.
It supports a 5 megapixels autofocus camera at the center-back with 720p HD video, geo-tagging, panorama, ¼” sensor size. The camera doesn’t get the best pictures in low light areas, it’s not quite the phone for a photographer but if you are just into facebook uploads, you’ll be satisfied.
The Lumia 635 doesn’t have a front camera and we still have no clue why Nokia has refused to give-up the feature. I’ve come across tons of mid-range Smartphone with at least not more than a 2-megapixels front camera; the Lumia 635 really deserves one. If you are a huge fan of selfies, you might reconsider acquiring this device.
Hardware And Software
Nokia Lumia 635 runs the latest windows phone 8.1 on a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor which is great for a budget Smartphone. However, a 512MB RAM is pretty low; it still came with an 8GB built-in storage and microSD expansion capacity of up to 128GB.
It has a Li-Ion 1830mAh battery just as the Lumia 630 but with its new 4G (LTE) feature, the battery duration might not be that good.
Network, Internet And Connectivity
The Lumia 635 sure beat the 630 with its latest 4G support, offering up to 100mbps of download speed and up to 42.2mbps on HSDPA. It features a single Micro-SIM, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, microUSB 2.0, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot.
