Motorola Nexus 6 Review

Motorola Nexus 6 also known as Motorola Nexus X is a great addition to the list of Google Nexus phones and was the first smartphone to operate on the newest Android version 5.0 lollipop. It’s a very huge upgrade to the earlier Nexus 5, the screen is bigger, the cameras and storage capacity are much better and the battery is incomparable.

Nexus 6 – Design And Display

The design of Nexus 6 is pretty much similar to the Nexus 5 although the cameras were relocated and as seen on the image above the two speakers were brought to the front. Apart from some minor changes, everything else looks so “Nexus”. It’s 10.1mm slim and weighs 184 grams which is light enough for a device that large.

The display of Nexus 6 got unexpectedly wide, it went from the 4.95 inch of the former to a 5.96 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a much better 1440 X 2560 pixels resolution at 493ppi pixels density, that’s just great. It’s protected by corning gorilla glass 3 and also came in with water resistant feature. Nexus 6 can be seen in two stunning colors, cloud white and midnight blue.

Nexus 6 – Camera

At the rear of Nexus 6 is a brilliant 13 megapixels autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and dual recording, up to 2160p HD. That’s an incredible upgrade to the 8MP of the Nexus 5. At the front, we have a 2 megapixels camera which i won’t recommend for selfies but it’s perfect for video calls. The cameras of this device are just great, you can’t ask for more.

Hardware And Software

The performance of the LG Nexus 5 was awesome and with Nexus 6 running on Android most advanced version 5.0 lollipop, powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core snapdragon 805 processor with a 3GB RAM, we expect it to perform much more better.

The Nexus 6 is available in 32GB and 64GB models which as you might already know will reflect the price. It comes with a non-removable 3220mAh battery with up to 330 hours standby and 24 hours talk-time.

Internet And Connectivity

Nexus 6 supports a single nano-SIM and with up to 300mbps 4G connectivity users will experience the browsing speed of a lifetime. It supports 2G/3G networks as well with up to 42mbps – 21mbps of download speed, featuring WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, DLNA, dual-band, WiFi hotspot, NFC.
