HTC Desire 310
I’ve come across quite a number of low-cost Smartphones from the popular brand “HTC”, but the desire 310 seems to be offering a lot more.
HTC desire 310 is a low cost Android Smartphone featuring a wide display, advanced Android version, sharp cameras and long-lasting battery, plus a reasonable amount of storage capacity. This Smartphone is currently targeted towards users desiring to enjoy the endless features of a great device without spending much.
It supports a micro SIM (normal SIM), available in single SIM and dual SIM models and can be found only in three colors with an amazing design | white, red, black.
Design And Display
The HTC desire 310 is an upgrade to the desire 300, it go its screen size increased from 4.3-inches to 4.5-inches although it’s the same TFT capacitive touch-display but with a much better 480 X 854 pixels resolution protected by corning gorilla glass 3 with HTC sense UI 5.1.
The design of HTC desire 310 is not much different from its predecessor, it features same curved edges, same camera and speaker location, but the back speaker (located at the button) got a little wider.
Camera
HTC desire 310’s camera is no doubt far better compared to most low-cost Smartphones. It came with a rear 5-megapixels camera (2592 X 1944 pixels) with HDR, geo-tagging, face & simile detection and up to 1080p HD video recording, although some basic features such as LED flash and autofocus were nowhere to be found. So you shouldn’t be expecting great images in low light areas. Below are pictures taken with the desire 310.
The camera isn’t that sharp, but it’s clearly beyond perfect for a low-cost Smartphone.
At the front top-right you’ll find a VGA camera (480p HD) which i consider normal for all budget devices.
Software And Performance
The desire 310 took-in some of the features found on top-class HTC Android devices such as the HTC sense UI version 5.1. The Android version 4.2.2 (jelly bean) it features is quite outdated; i expected it to run a superior Android v4.4 (kitkat); nevertheless, it’s still an upgrade to the earlier HTC desire 300 operating on version 4.1.2 of Android OS.
The performance of this device will no doubt be memorable. It’s powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz cortex-A7 processor (Mediatek MT6582MM) with Mali-400MP2 GPU. It has a 1GB RAM model for Europe, but here in Nigeria you are most likely to find only the 512MB RAM model which isn’t so great.
Battery Life
HTC desire 310 comes with a 2000mAh Li-Ion battery and yes, it’s removable and the performance is also reasonable. It is expected to last up to 852 hours on Standby and up to 11 hours on talktime. However, research shows that on browsing, the battery dies off in about 5 hours.
