Infinix Hot Note Phablet Review

Infinix Hot Note is a great addition to the list of powerful yet affordable android smartphones and a major upgrade to the Infinix Hot. It comes with a much bigger 5.5 inch display placing it in the phablet category, runs on Android kitkat OS and is powered by an octa-core processor with a whopping 4000mAh battery.

Unboxing Infinix Hot Note

Infinix Hot Note arrives in a white rectangular box with the device sketch on the front and its major features listed at the back. Open it up as you’ll do a box of sugar and you’ll have a glimpse of the HotNote. Proceed to remove the polythene wrap covering the device and wow!!!, that will be your first expression.

On removing the phone you will see all the accessories it comes with, this includes a USB power adapter charger, USB adapter cable and a quality earpiece, the user manual is as well included.

Infinix Hot Note – Overall Design

Weighing 172 grams at just 8.9mm, the 5.5 inched Infinix Hot note is no doubt the slimmest and lightest of its kind in Nigeria mobile market. It got a premium design with metallic texture finishing and offers a wide range of beautiful colors for users to choose from, you can have your HotNote in Mint green, Anthracite grey, Champagne gold or Copper brown; the colors are just stunning.

The new Infinix phablet provides physical home, menu and back key at the front and at the right side are located the volume and power button, this implies it’s also a perfect device for entry-level users as operating the phone won’t pose any difficulty.

Display And Camera

A 5.5 inch display with 720 X 1280 HD resolution is what you’ll expect from the Infinix Hot Note. The screen is not just bigger but brighter with excellent angle views which will surely boost your desire to watch movies, play games and browse the web (the display is well suited for those).

The camera is a top priority for most users and the Infinix Hot Note didn’t disappoint with that. It comes loaded with a power-effective 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, featuring an OV8865 image sensor to deliver high quality pictures; the dynamic view is enhanced by 5% and HD video recording at 30fps, that’s just amazing.

Hello selfie lovers, you weren’t left out; HotNote is equipped with a 2 MP front camera which supports 750 wide-angle shooting for more selfie coverage.

Performance And Storage

Infinix Hot Note operates on Android OS, version 4.4.2 kitkat featuring Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) which enables users to access and manage all incoming programs for their device. For heavy gamers and high-end app users, the HotNote phablet is no doubt a breakthrough. It offers a Mediatek Octa-core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. My experience so far with this device confirms that there won’t be any case of sluggish performance or difficulties in running heavy apps.

The built-in memory was more than expected, a 16GB which will certainly eliminate the need for a memory card. However, you can further extend the memory as it features a microSD card slot.

Infinix Hot Note – Battery

Infinix Hot Note assures a great battery life with the 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery (which is not user removable), offering 21 hours of talktime, 600 hours of standby time & 40 hours on music play. It promises to go for two days on a full charge; that’s something i experimented on and the result was outstanding; HotNote is prepared for heavy users. It also incorporates the Infinix charger accessory for fast charging (less than one hour of charging let’s you operate your device for 36 hours).

Infinix Hot Note features dual micro-SIM, supporting 2G & 3G with incredible browsing speed on 3G. For connectivity you have WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0.
